Our holiday sugestions are taken from actual agent experiences over the years. Our staff is encouraged to travel and keep up on current travel trends and hot spots...below are some of our staff's recent recommendations: by Crystal Hepburn - March 2006
St. Lucia- the most beautiful island in the Caribbean. I have been fortunate enough to have visited twice, so far. This island has the most beautiful scenery, it is very lush and has unique terrain. This island boasts many nice beaches and great scuba diving. The people are among the friendliest I have found. Many excursions to keep everyone busy and active. The one excursion, not to be missed is the Catamaran sailing down the coast, then viewing the Volcano Sulphur Springs, Diamond Waterfalls and Soufriere. It is very relaxing and enjoyable watching the scenery of the island and the Pitons. The Volcano Sulphur Springs is an active volcano that you visit. The Diamond Waterfalls are full of minerals, and extremely good for any ailments like arthritis. Other excursions that I have done are the Island Tour, Mountain biking, (which was not as difficult as I would have thought) and of course the shopping tour of Castries. I love to scuba dive and have found the sea life to be very nice and interesting with many dive sites. It is worth every penny when you travel here. There are some great all inclusives- for couples, we have 3 Sandals resorts and for families, we can offer the new Almond Beach Morgan Bay hotel. Leave the driving to someone else and take the train to Toronto. Via Rail provided a relaxing way to get to Toronto and not have to worry about driving on Highway 401 or finding parking downtown. Toronto is a great city to take in a sporting event, theatre package, shopping weekend or just sightseeing at any of the great attractions. You can purchase a package for attractions called the Toronto City Pass that gets you into the CN Tower, Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, Ontario Science Centre and Toronto Zoo for one low price. Its a great value. My favorite hotels are the Delta Chelsea, The Royal York or the Sheraton Centre which are all downtown and put you in the middle of it all. Superclubs Breezes Resort has the largest zero entry pools that I have ever seen. The food and drinks are plentiful. The beaches are very large with golden sand and an abundance of watersports for the whole family to take advantage of. Outdoor activites include rock climbing, trampoline and flying trapeze. This resort is very large with beautiful tropical flowers throughout. Many excursions are offered including Manati park that can be pre-booked before you go where they have a number of different animals and you will be able to swim with the Dolphins. Just keep in mind that in the month of May you will experience a little more liquid sunshine (rain) than other times of the year. Are you looking for a place where you don't need to worry about your children? if so then this is the place. They have an XBOX room for all ages, Sesame Street for the younger kids and the best part of the resort is their brand new lazy river and water slide. Oh, but most important of all "The Red Lane Spa" for a little pampering on your own or as a couple. The beach area.... 7 miles of beautiful white sand beach with almost every type of non-motorized water sport you could want included in your package. Snorkeling was fantastic, the fish and coral are amazing. Exploring the island a little bit... the best tour that we did on the Island was the Canopy Tour with Chukka Tours. The resort offers good restaurants and nightly entertainment, or you can get a bottle of wine and go and relax in a hammock and listen to the beautiful sound of the ocean along with the soothing sound of the West Indies crickets. Wonderful family vacation for the price conscience parents. This property is on Bloody Bay in Negril and it is a large property with beautifully manicured grounds and a wonderful childrens program. The counsellors actually come looking for your children to get them involved with their program. Food was plentiful and a wide variety from seafood (every night), pizza to low calorie for the healthy eaters. Dining room staff was very attentive to food selections in order to provide proper condements. Two very large pools one with swimup bar, an abundance of lounge chairs both at the pool and on the beach and towels are provided at no charge. Rooms are with balcony or patio 2 double beds, with stocked fridge and mini bar replenished every other day...and ladies no need to pack a hairdryer there is one in every room. What a fantastic resort in a very upspoiled area of Jamaica. The resort sits on a 2 mile stretch white sand beach with no one else in site. It is a quiet laid back property but with the Red Lane Spa, XBox center, large pool area, duty free shopping, nightclub and the daily activities program you'd never know you were so far away from the action in Negril. The restaurants were all great with lots of variety. It was very nice to sit in the piazza area outside the restaurants after dinner and listen to the waves on the beach or the saxaphonist playing nearby. Very Romantic!! Our favourite family holiday was four days of Walt Disney World combined with 3 days of cruising with Disney in the Bahamas. We had a chance to enjoy all the parks and then continue the Disney theme as we relaxed at sea. A week of sun and fun, with something for everyone. Ask Gillian about Disney at gillian@valentetravel.com

When I vist another country for the first time, I prefer to use the services of an organized tour. They take care of the logistics - where to go, what to see, and how to get there. I'm free to relax and enjoy the holiday without worrying about the next day. Find out more about organized tours - ask Gillian at gillian@valentetravel.com

My favourite recent holiday was island hopping in Greece. It was the best way to absorb the diversity of the country's culture. We experienced something new every day - from the rugged countryside to the beauty of the Aegean Sea. The exciting tastes of local food & wine, music, history, culture and hospitality changed from island to island. I look forward to returning some day to enjoy a longer visit on some of our favourite islands. For further information, send Gillian an e-mail at gillian@valentetravel.com

Fantastic family resort with lots to offer both adults and children. The Sesame Street characters are out quite a few times during the day and breakfast with the characters was a real treat. The older kids really liked the XBox Game Oasis, but there were quite a few dads in there too. The staff at the resort were great with the kids and everyone was very friendly and made sure we had a great time. For more information or to ask Lisa a question email to lisa@valentetravel.com

My top pick for a relaxing vacation is at my very favourite resort, Sandals Negril. Whenever I arrive there the I feel like I am at my "home away from home" - the staff is so warm and weloming and so very friendly. The beach in Negril is Spectacular and there is nothing like indulging in a spa treatment and then watching the sunset on the beach with a tropical cocktail. Email Julie about her favourite property to julie@valentetravel.com

My favourite way to see Europe is by cruise. It is a great way to see many ports and great cities in a short time and enjoy all the wonderful amenities that a ship has to offer. It also allows you to bypass the long waits to see some of the attractions by going on the ship shore excursions. At the end of the day you can enjoy a wonderful dinner or sit out on the deck and watch as the ship sails out of port. E-mail Julie for more information at julie@valentetravel.com

Acapulco is our favourite sun destination. You have guaranteed HOT weather and the best of both worlds, laying around the pool or in the comfort of a cabana sipping Margarita's by day and at night just outside the hotel lobby you are in th centre of the bustling city walking distance to markets, restaurants, bars, entertainment and the best disco's which open at 11 pm 'til whenever the last person leaves. I have alway felt safe there and the Mexican people are most welcoming. Even if you purchase an all inclusive program it is affordable enough to enjoy a couple of nights on the town during your stay.
